Hiking in Tucson

A short holiday from the rain took my husband and I to Tucson, Arizona. My sister and her husband recently moved to the desert where she is discovering hiking trails in nearby Sabino Canyon. If you have the opportunity to travel to Arizona, I would definitely recommend these trails for running. The first part is fairly flat, paved road that you can either walk, run, bike or take a motorized tram (open-sided bus). It was suggested to take the tram at least part of the way as the driver offers interesting information about the area- how it was developed, the bird and plant life. One can jump on or off at any of the 9 stops. At the top end there are additional paths that wind up the mountains making for a more challenging run or walk. The views are spectacular! Allow yourself at least 3 hours taking lots of water, sports bars and snacks with you as the sun and wind can quickly deplete you of energy.

Please see the attached website for additional information on Sabino Canyon.
