Weekend in Washington

Although this post doesn’t specifically give tips about training , I thought it may interest some readers as to options on where to stay when on the road- away from their own gym.

Spent a busy weekend in Bellevue, Washington enjoying the amenities of a small luxury award winning hotel- the Hotel Bellevue. Originally the site was built as a fitness club adding the hotel a few years later.  It hosts just 67 rooms offering all the comforts of home plus much more. The health club boasts 4 gyms, sauna, steam in both men’s and women’s locker rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts as well as an indoor track, basketball, squash, racquetball courts, 3 restaurants, 2 lounges with fireplaces, coffee shop, sportswear shop and spa facilities. Hotel guests may participate in fitness classes including yoga, Pilates and spinning. The gyms have all the latest training equipment and enough variety to ensure that we didn’t need to wait. The award winning hotel’s suites were clean, spacious and luxurious.  Upon arrival we checked out the gym and enjoyed a delicious dinner in the bar/ restaurant. I was able to get in one more workout during the weekend in addition to cheering my husband and friend on, at a tennis tournament in Kirkland. We also managed to squeeze in a night at Jazz Alley in Seattle enjoying music at a hip venue.

For the athletic traveller visiting the Seattle area, I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Bellevue and health club. I look forward to a return visit.
